Minuit
2011
The city sleeps. A match is lit. Somewhere between wakefulness and exhaustion, a writer sits alone at his desk, the typewriter, the ashtray, the blank page waiting.
Minuit grew out of a fascination with the private rituals of creation. We wanted to capture that specific quality of late-night light, warm, still, slightly feverish, and the quiet tension of someone trying to make something out of nothing. Shot entirely on location with available light, no artificial sources. The match was real. So was the silence.
